“Livro de tombo” toma como ponto de partida o incêndio ocorrido em 2018 no Museu Nacional, ano em que a instituição completaria 200 anos.
Para a concepção da obra um importante, e agora raro, livro sobre a coleção do museu patrocinado por um banco privado é apresentado em uma base protegido por uma cúpula junto com uma placa em bronze com o logo e a data de sua inauguração e incêndio. O título faz uma menção a um patrimônio público de extrema importância que era tombado, e agora não existe mais devido a negligência do poder público, restando apenas a documentação desse acervo publicada no catálogo. O livro de Tombo é uma ferramenta administrativa dos Museus onde se registra os bens culturais em função do seu valor histórico e cultural. Na obra esse nome é apropriado em referência a catalogação realizada pelo banco para a publicação, que hoje é um raro registro do acervo.

The work takes as a starting point the fire that occurred in 2018 at the Brazilian National Museum, the year in which the institution would complete 200 years. For the conception of the work an important, and now rare, book about the museum's collection sponsored by a private bank is presented on a base protected by a dome along with a bronze plaque with the logo of the museum, the date of its inauguration and the date of the fire. The title mentions a public patrimony of extreme importance, that should be protect as cultural heritage, and now no longer exists due to the negligence of the public power. All we have now is only the documentation of this collection published in the catalog. “Livro de tombo” (Tumble Book) is a Brazilian expression for an administrative tool for museums where cultural goods are registered according to their historical and cultural value. In the work, this name is appropriate in reference to the cataloging carried out by the bank for the publication, which today is a rare record of the collection.
