O trabalho "Versão Oficial" parte de um fato histórico. Em 1968 a artista Regina Vater foi convidada para realizar a capa do disco "Tropicália ou Panis et Circencis". Na época um de seus desenhos da série Tropicália estamparia a capa do disco. Porém ao ser produzido a capa realizada pela artista não foi usada, sendo substituída por outra capa realiza pelo artista Rubens Gerchman.
Para a criação da obra, foi solicitada a colaboração de Regina Vater que refez o desenho, já que o original se perdeu, a artista o viu pela última vez em 1972 emoldurado na parede da gravadora Philips. Na obra um toca discos reproduz o disco Tropicália junto com a nova capa produzida pela artista.

The work “Versão Oficial” starts from a historical fact. In 1968 the artist Regina Vater was invited to realize the cover of the disc “Tropicália or Panis et Circencis”. At the time one of her drawings of the series “Tropicália” would stamp the cover of the disc. However when the disc was produced, the cover realized by Regina was not used, being replaced by another cover realized by the artist Rubens Gerchman.
For the creation of the work, the collaboration of Regina Vater was requested to redo the drawing, since the original was lost, the artist saw it for the last time in 1972 framed in the wall of Philips recorder. In the work a disc player reproduces the disc “Tropicália” with the new cover produced by Vater.
